In his university days, he managed to lead a team in securing joint 2nd place for written submissions in an Intellectual Property Moot organised by the University of Oxford. He was also part of a team which was crowned as the Malaysian champion in the International Humanitarian Law Moot and represented Malaysia in the international rounds of the said tournament.

Leong Men Dy
Partner (LL.B (Hons) MMU)

Men Dy is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Win & Men Dy. Throughout her legal career, she has worked on a broad range of disputes including contractual claims, shareholder conflicts, employment matters, tortious claims, debt recoveries, and enforcement actions. In recent years, her practice has expanded to include estate disputes and defamation cases.

Her journey in litigation began during her law school days when she competed in moot competitions, one of which was the Oxford International Moot Competition where she and her team secured a Joint Runner-Up placement in the written submission category. Competing against teams from prominent universities across the globe, this experience sharpened her advocacy skills, deepened her passion for litigation and significantly boosted her confidence in the male-dominated legal industry.

In May 2019, Men Dy was called to the Malaysian Bar and began her legal career as an advocate and solicitor at a litigation firm in Kuala Lumpur. Working alongside senior lawyers and counsel, she gained practical and hands-on experience in legal disputes. Some of her notable experiences include:

  • Assisting in a contractual claim for a construction company seeking payment of over four million ringgit for work completed in a golf course construction project. Worked alongside the team to secure a favorable judgment for the client.
  • Representing a beneficiary in a highly contested estate dispute, successfully negotiating an amicable settlement while safeguarding the client’s interests.
  • Representing a shareholder in an oppression suit against a company director who set up a competing business, diverted company funds, and poached employees. The case was successfully resolved with settlement terms that protected the client’s interests.

After gaining valuable experience in litigation, Men Dy took on a new challenge by co-founding Win & Men Dy with Edwin. Since its establishment, the firm has served over a hundred clients in a variety of civil and commercial disputes.

Men Dy believes that litigation is more than just a profession. It is in fact an arena where strategy, advocacy, and integrity come together to achieve meaningful outcomes. Whether negotiating settlements, drafting cause papers, or advocating in courts, she remains committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for her clients.
